MySQL UK database for UK towns & cities, includes admin control panel for easy editing & pre-coded PHP functions for easy access & data control.

If you are a web developer & need a database of UK towns with extra data then we can save you many hours of work by using our UK database. There are 2 databases in the package, one to store postcodes & one to store town data.

The postcode database includes:
2,829 UK postcode areas
Co-ordinates of all areas (useful for distance calculations)
The city / town of the postcode
* The county the postcode is in
Initials of each postcode area (so you can easily group postcodes by area, eg. BN)

The town database includes:
1,405 UK towns & cities
Area phone dialling codes
Population of town
Wiki text & Wikipedia link

The database package also includes an admin area where you can easily edit data and also some PHP functions to make things like distance calculations & data retrieval very easy. Please see our PHP functions page for more details on how these functions work.

* We have not used county names in Scotland or Northern Ireland. Postal counties are no longer used in Scotland & we have decided not to use county names for N. Ireland, we find it a lot clearer for the user this way.
Both 'counties' are named as "Scotland" & "Northern Ireland" respectively.
